Trevoh Chalobah Set to Take Over from Guehi in England Selection
Trevoh Chalobah followed his sibling Nathaniel in representing England, emerging as the twenty-first pair of siblings to earn caps for the England side.
Trevoh Chalobah is expected to join up with the England squad to replace injured Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi.
The 26-year-old is set to link up with the squad for England's remaining World Cup qualifying matches against Serbia and Albania, but it has not yet been confirmed.
The national side have already booked their place for next summer's World Cup.
Chalobah received his first invitation under England head coach Thomas Tuchel in May and then earned his first cap against Senegal.
In the month of September, Tuchel said Chalobah was unfortunate to be omitted from the squad for qualifiers against Andorra and Serbia, and additionally omitted him for the next October fixtures.
Tuchel has been an key presence in Chalobah's career, having awarded him his Chelsea debut in the year 2021.
Chalobah has appeared in nearly all fixtures for Chelsea in the current campaign, with the team third in the English top flight, in the Carabao Cup last eight and in the group stage of the European competition.
Guehi sustained a foot problem in Crystal Palace's Europa Conference League victory over the Dutch side last week.
There are set to be further additions to the selection. Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has said that both winger Anthony Gordon (hip injury) and shot-stopper Nick Pope (concussion symptoms) will be unavailable from the England setup.
