Kansas City Chiefs Acknowledge Domestic Violence Claims Connected to Wide Receiver the Athlete
The Kansas City Chiefs issued a statement Wednesday night indicating they have knowledge of claims of abuse circulated in social media posts by a ex-partner of player Rashee Rice and were in contact with the NFL.
The team omitted the name of Rice specifically in their announcement and said they would have “no further comment at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who likewise did not name the athlete by name, shared a set of images on Instagram that appeared to show signs of physical abuse. She did say the individual in question was the father of her children, and it is known she has two children with Rice, whom the Chiefs selected in the 2023 draft.

No official complaints were available in Overland Park, Kansas where the alleged abuse is said to have occurred.
Player's Recent Legal Issues
The receiver missed the first six games of this season following an league-mandated ban for his involvement in instigating a crash on a Dallas highway that left several individuals hurt. He was given 30 days in jail and probationary supervision after entering a guilty plea to serious offenses.
On the field, Rice finished the year with 53 receptions for 571 receiving yards and five touchdowns as the Kansas City went with a losing record and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first occasion in a ten-year span.
