David Walliams dropped by publishing house.

The author

Best-selling children's author and comedian David Walliams has been dropped by his longtime publishing house, according to an announcement.

A spokesman for the publisher commented: "After careful consideration, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish additional books by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the move was reached following an investigation into allegations of conduct deemed unsuitable directed at female individuals.

The publisher has not elaborated on the specific rationale behind the move, noting: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."

An Illustrious Publishing History

Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, with sales exceeding over six tens of millions of copies worldwide in dozens of tongues.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.

Some of his titles, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as television films.

His bibliography includes in excess of 40 works altogether, including a Christmas book titled *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins last autumn.

Television and Literature

He first rose to fame on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE in 2017 honoring his contributions to the charitable sector and arts community.

This move occurs subsequent to the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO last fall.
