Arise, Sir David: Football Legend Honoured by King Charles at Windsor Castle Investiture
The football icon received a honorary title at Windsor Castle on the weekday. The ex-national team leader, fifty, was one of the individuals receiving awards for his services to sport and charity. Earlier this year, he expressed he was “extremely honored” of being acknowledged in the King’s birthday honours.
Soccer Achievements
Beckham made his Premier League debut for Manchester United in the mid-nineties and was part of the team that earned a thrilling Champions League final victory in the late nineties when they defeated the German giants with last-minute strikes.
In total, he scored 85 goals and garnered accolades including multiple English championships and domestic cup wins as a soccer professional, before retiring from the sport in 2013. In addition to his sports endeavors, he has backed a number of charity causes, including serving as a charitable representative for global aid group Unicef since the mid-2000s.

Charitable and Other Roles
In the previous year, Beckham, who has described himself as a “huge royalist”, was named an official representative for the King’s Foundation, an educational charity established by the monarch in the early nineties. In the late nineties he was named most stylish man of the year by a leading publication and he has modelled for companies such as the fashion retailer, Armani, and the luxury label.
Beckham married his wife Victoria in 1999 and the couple have a family of four kids together – their eldest, Romeo, the third child, and their daughter.
