Aircraft Twirls Wildly into Palm Groves at Popular Southern California Coast
A helicopter soaring above a popular coastal shoreline suddenly began spiraling out of control, eventually dropping height and crashing into a row of palm groves as onlookers looked on.
Recordings uploaded online capture the chopper starting to spin near the shoreline then plunging towards the border of the shore, where it gets stuck amidst palm trees and a steps near the coastal road.
Rescue Operation Information
The Huntington Beach fire department said five people were taken to hospital including two who were in the aircraft and were “extracted safely from the crash site” following the accident on that day.
Three people on the road were hurt. Details on their injuries were not yet released.
The reason for the accident was still under investigation.

The department said the aircraft was associated with an regular “Cars with Copters” fundraising event scheduled for Sunday.
